Engagement and Development Manager Location: WalesContract type: Permanent17.5 hours per weekSalary: GBP21,299 -GBP24,494 pro rataAbout the roleTo lead on engagement projects and initiatives, with a focus on relationship building with external networks, recruitment of new volunteers, recognition and celebration of existing contributions. The role will be guided by national initiatives and work in close partnership with the volunteer mobilisation team (including the national youth team), internal customers, and the communication and engagement directorate. They will also work closely with local senior cluster manager, OD, and from time to time our business partners. This will involve, as required, the management of resources to create small teams, and the leadership of these teams to achieve agreed outcomes.Projects and initiatives might include, for example, recruitment roadshows; development and management of university groups; local volunteer centre events.Leadership for how we deliver our young people strategy, safe, heard & developed, is owned by the 'national team' and led by service directors, but this role will act as a local reference point to ensure good practice is played out through our colleagues in service teams.About the teamThe P&L Directorate delivers the organisation's People Goals enabling an increasingly diverse workforce to be truly aligned to our mission, values and fundamental principles. The Directorate works through a strong organisation development approach with a focus on engagement through transparency and openness.About the personYou will work with colleagues in Operational Development, communications & engagement, volunteer mobilisation and services to ensure we celebrate our people's work and achievements, and undertake specific initiatives to ensure we attract a diverse range of people, support them on their journey with us and recognise what we collectively achieve on the way.With an excellent working knowledge of the Youth Engagement strategy - safe, heard & developed, successful candidates must have:Demonstrable ability to communicate clearly, concisely and persuasively, verbally and in writing.Project management of small initiatives including the planning, design, delivery, learning cycle.Working with diverse audiences Computer literate, especially in Microsoft Office.
