Do you have experience as a Finance Assistant within a manufacturing environment? Then we have the role for you The role will requires you to be a self-starter, numerate, analytical, investigative and have experience in processing and reconciling large volumes of data. Ideally you will have worked within a similar transactional finance role, however for the right applicant training will be provided. Reporting directly to the Management Accountant, the Finance Assistant will: Work closely with Supply Chain and other departments, to resolve any invoice or purchase order queries, and to ensure timely supplier payments. Ensure all invoices/credit notes are processed in a timely manner to meet required payment run dates. Raise payment runs in line with supplier terms, ensuring that supply of product is not delayed by late payment. Supplier statement reconciliation. Raising of suppliers Purchase Orders in line with company demand. Daily reconciliation of UK and Euro bank accounts. Daily monitoring of cash-flow. Processing all cash and credit card expense claims, posting to the system. Product costings. Month end ledger reconciliation and closure to strict deadlines. Monthly accruals and prepayment journals. Perpetual stock inventory. Carrying out general finance duties including the posting of journals. Assisting with the preparation of the year end accounts for audit. Providing cover within Finance department as required. Assist with any other activity the business deems necessary including management requests. You will need experience and skills in the following areas: Excellent numeracy and literacy skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Advanced Microsoft Office Skills, particularly Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and formulas. Able to communicate with a range of people both internally and externally. Ability to manage work to strict accounting deadlines whilst ensuring attention to detail. Ability to investigate and analyse financial data. Understanding of foreign currency.
