Technical Data Analyst / Data Scientist - Cardiff - 35,000 - 42,000 We`re working with a well-funded spin out organisation who are expanding quickly and keen to bring a technical data analyst on board. Ideally the successful candidate will come from a similar background however we`re keen to speak with analysts who are looking to find out more about machine learning, tableau, vizualisation and data manipulation. The company specialise in developing and bringing to market, next generation, cutting edge software applications giving marketers the ability to track the consumer journey, from watching a TV commercial and visiting that brand online, right the way through to entering a store and making a purchase. The primary responsibility of this role is to produce insights from big data as opposed to being a report runner`. You will ask questions of the answers you get from data and drive through to complete analyses to present to stakeholders across the company as well as external partners. You`ve got to love a challenge, and have the drive to continually improve the service to strive for best practices that ultimately deliver the best software to their users. As part of the new company, you will work closely with the product development and operational teams to create insightful interactive analyses from their Big Data platform, you will extract data, identify and analyse trends, create visual models to accurately display information. Applicants should be interested in identifying/analysing trends, and creating visual models to accurately display information; we`re also looking for skills in - - Data manipulation and extraction using SQL. - Experience with any Data Visualization Software such as Tableau, Qlikview or Spotfire You must be able to articulate complex technical information to non-technical people at all levels. Responsibilities in this role will be varied however will include - - Creating insightful static and interactive visualisations from large multi-dimensional data sets. - Communicating face-to-face with end-users to gain insights about their needs and idiosyncrasies - Leveraging data to identify, quantify and influence tangible business gain. - Ability to see beyond the numbers and be the voice of data when communicating - Challenging ideas and methods while working together with talented, highly skilled team members.
