As part of our exciting expansion plans, we currently have an opportunity to hire an Operational Excellence Manager to be based in our Cardiff and Crumlin office. The Role As an Operational Excellence Manager, you will play a pivotal role within the business and be accountable for a minimum of two sites or a group of regional sites and will be the primary coach responsible for coaching individuals and assessing the progress of the lean enterprise transformation. This will require leadership by influence. As an Operational Excellence Manager, your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following: Coach, mentor and develop full-time site Op Ex resources (Black Belts) in the region Facilitate problem solving sessions such as Kaizen or Workouts to lead teams to address issues which may not require an expanded DMAIC approach Lead site/functional teams on site-specific or cross-business unit projects Identify viable belt projects during site interaction or assessments Escalate and remove barriers to black belt project progress and career advancement Communicate frequently with The Head of Global Operations and the Director of Technical Operations on site approval progress towards LSS maturity and results, including financials. The Person As an Operational Excellence Manager, you will have previous experience of applying Lean and / or Six Sigma techniques within a professional level pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry with prior supervisory and management responsibilities. You will have the ability to identify and drive improvement opportunities across the BBI Business through exemplary interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt and communicate at all levels to maintain relationships while pursuing organisational goals. You will have a proven track record of successfully completing improvement projects in circa of £250k. You will need strong decision-making skills and the ability to manage multiple and detail oriented tasks while working autonomously to tight deadlines in pressurised situations.
