About the role This role involves working in support of a Microsoft environment, comprising 3,200 users over 20 sites in 14 countries. Comprising of Active Directory, Windows 7 & 10, SCCM, Messaging infrastructure. What we're looking for As an experienced Windows Engineer your key responsibilities will be: - To assist in the planning, design, implementation, and support of Windows Server and desktop platforms. - Maintain and configure SCCM environment - Install, configure and maintain windows server 2008R2 / 2012. - Take ownership of 3rd Line IT support issues - Maintaining the integrity and availability of the Infrastructure - Provide technical support for projects as directed - Assist with policy, procedure and standards documents based on industry best practices and personal research and experience. - Responsibility for Cardiff Lab environment - testing, PC builds, processes - Perform critical system changes outside of business hours. - Understands and promotes GMAC's policy on Treating Customers Fairly (TCF). - To ensure ongoing adherence to all relevant compliance regulations that may govern the GMAC UK Plc business and complete all regulatory knowledge training where applicable in a timely fashion. Skills and Qualifications - Advanced knowledge of Windows Server and Desktop operating systems. - Strong SCCM management and application packaging experience - Advanced knowledge of Active Directory. - General windows scripting experience - Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP - Local Area and Wide Area networking concepts and principles. - General knowledge of server and desktop hardware. - General knowledge of desktop and server virtualization technologies. - General knowledge of internally developed application servers. - General knowledge of cross platform integration - Ability to communicate quickly, clearly, concisely, appropriately, and intelligently; must foster open communication, speak with impact, listen to others, and write effectively. - Possess critical thinking and analytical skills with an ability to evaluate complex problems and issues quickly and accurately in order to recommend or take the most appropriate course of action. - Good interpersonal skills with an ability to work well with others in teams and collaborative work situations.
