Our consultancy client are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager to support their team working with a number of our prestigious clients within the Infrastructure sector, based out of their Cardiff office and servicing Wales and the South West of England. Role Summary: -To work as Cost Manager within the South Wales & South West of England Infrastructure team -Has the ability to operate effectively within a co-located environment with the Client's, Consultant's and Contractor's project delivery teams. -Ability to work within a partnering environment, form effective working relationships and make a positive outcome to the investment programme/sub-programme -Commercial Administration of a portfolio of projects. -Production of costs plans, estimates, benchmarking analysis of schemes, awareness of WLCs. -Support the production of commercial reports incorporating metrics (e.g. EVM, outturn analysis) -Experienced in change, risk and value management. -Identifying new opportunities and support in the development of bids/tenders. -Support and develop Assistant Cost Managers and the commercial team. Experience -Construction or infrastructure background in at least one of the following sectors: water, gas, power, rail, light rail/trams, highways, environmental, regulated industries. -Contract background in at least one of the following contracts: NEC, ICE, JCT or FIDIC -Preferably degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline, project management or surveying. -Associate or full membership of an appropriate professional institution. -Solid appreciation of Cost Management of multiple multi-discipline engineering design and construction projects (>£10m Capital Expenditure). -Both site and office based experience on a variety of project types including civil and building infrastructure projects. Key Performance Indicators A Cost Manager will in part be assessed by the extent to which: -Service delivery on commissions is in line with the conditions of appointment -They work as an effective member of the cost management team, including where appropriate, taking effective responsibility for Assistant Cost Managers -Opportunities are identified to develop new business with existing clients -Margin levels are kept track of on all commissions -Key information and data is effectively cascaded and appropriately retained If interested we look forward to receiving your CV as soon as possible.
