This is an exciting opportunity for a laboratory measurement scientist experienced in mass spectrometry and chromatography techniques (GCMS, LCMSMS, HPLC) to join Weqas, an internationally recognised and respected External Quality Assessment (EQA) provider. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the reference laboratory.

Weqas is one of the largest External Quality Assessment (EQA) providers in the United Kingdom with over 600 clients worldwide, providing services to NHS pathology laboratories, independent healthcare laboratories, independent pharmacies, General practitioners, forensic pathology laboratories, NHS England CCGs, veterinary pathology laboratories, clinical trial units and diagnostic companies.

The organisation provides over 30 ISO 17043 Accredited EQA Programmes which includes performance evaluation and an educational advisory service. Weqas is also an ISO 17025 & ISO 15195 Reference Measurement Laboratory for Medical Laboratories and manufacturer of bespoke control material.

The Advanced Healthcare Science Practitioner will have experience in a range of analytical techniques and will supervise and troubleshoot highly complex measurement systems such as Mass Spectrometers and Spectrophotometers. The Reference Laboratory provides a Reference Measurement Service using Gold Standard methodology in Clinical Chemistry. To succeed in the post you will need excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively on your own and as part of a team. You must be committed to providing a quality service. NHS experience is not essential.
