The job in a nutshell

This job is one of the most critical in the service centre as you will not only be managing front of house service but also running the workshop to deliver a world class service to all of CarShop Customers.

Andy Southby is the Operations Manager and oversees the Cardiff Store so essentially he is the 'boss' and he runs the operation like a well-oiled machine, which is why Cardiff are going from strength to strength. You will report to our Service Centre Manager who is eager to make his service centre the best in the group.

What you will be doing

Our service centre is fast paced and exciting with lots of opportunity to make a difference. You will be providing a professional but friendly customer experience, representing CarShop. This means keeping in touch with our valuable customers to remind them when their Service and MOT is due and then making sure they are booked in the system. You will also proactively present other products and services to ensure our customers fully understand what CarShop can offer them then ensure orders and quotes are provided.

You are also responsible for assigning work to Vehicle Technicians to ensure the smooth running of the workshop. This includes planning incoming work, managing time and resources and assigning technicians tasks ensuring productivity is maximised and that deadlines are adhered to.

An important part of your job is performance management, coaching and development of the technicians and the service team.

However, the coolest part about this job is that you get to run the service centre in the absence of the Service Manager meaning you will be learning and developing new skills on a continuous basis.

Naturally, due to the nature of the job you will have excellent customer service skills and it would be advantageous if you were proficient in the use of IT packages.
