The job: This role sits within our busy IT function and fulfils standard requests from end users relating to desktop assets and telephony, including new, replacement and break/fix requests. Additionally, you will be required to provide support for the cabling engineer and occasionally you will be required to work on remote sites. An important element of this role involves working with other teams to ensure asset management and stock control systems/processes are adhered to and when appropriate improved. What you will do: Desktop Builds, configuration, repair & deployment (including PC, Laptop, VDI & other hardware). Troubleshooting issues related to the Society’s desktop infrastructure. Service Request Fulfilment (Including but not limited to Desktop hardware, Telephony, Remote Access, Printing). Cabling and patching of the society’s infrastructure. Working with and providing cover for the Cabling Services Engineer. Providing Support to the Colleague Support Team and IT Service Desk team. Procurement and stock control. Working closely with the IT service Coordinators and the Colleague Services Team. Maintain an awareness of the Society’s policies and procedures and adhere to them. Promote and embrace a culture of continuous improvement being open and proactive to improvements and carrying out improvements in line with the corporate methodology. What we are looking for: We are looking for an experienced desktop engineer. Duties to include building, deploying and supporting end user devices. Including but not limited to Desktop PCs, Laptops, Tablets, Mobile phones and Desk phones. You should have a good working knowledge of Windows operating systems and end user software support (Microsoft, Adobe, Web based platforms). You will also need a strong understanding of desktop hardware (PC, Laptop, Tablets and VDI) Who are we?
