About us We are the captive finance company and wholly owned subsidiary of General Motors, providing finance solutions for Vauxhall Motors, MG Motors and SsangYong UK. Although we are part of a global organisation, we are proud to offer a local working environment where everyone is encouraged and recognized for making a difference. Our compliance team operates as one team spread across multiple jurisdictions with our central compliance hub based in our UK headquarters, Cardiff. Talent development is something that we take very seriously. We go the extra mile to ensure all of our compliance employees are given the chance to improve both their technical and softer skills. We want to help you become the best you can be, so by working with our talent management and training departments we will utilize our resources to help you achieve this which includes endorsement of compliance qualifications. As our Senior Data Protection Manager, you will lead the team to successfully build and enhance our data protection compliance programs across multiple jurisdictions. You will ensure that the day to day operations are conducted in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements; in addition to leading the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) into the business. You will have a particular focus on strategic management of IT and security data protection compliance. With a dynamic, driven and culturally diverse team, no two days are the same. You will be expected to think innovatively and commercially; working closely with our business units, senior stakeholders and the wider compliance & legal teams to make things happen. In addition, you will provide leadership, guidance and day to day line management to a small data protection and records management team. The ability to lead a team and guide stakeholders across the organisation is an important element of this role. Therefore extensive and solid leadership experience is required, along with the ability to lead multiple initiatives across the compliance function and drive results. You will also be able to demonstrate second to none communication skills, with experience working directly with senior management as needed to present, review, and discuss compliance management topics. As a compliance professional, you will have demonstrable experience within regulatory compliance and risk management within the financial services industry; with particular knowledge of European & UK data protection and privacy laws. What's on offer for you?
