PROCESS ENGINEER (III-V OPTO-ELECTONICS SEMICONDUCTORS) BASED CARDIFF - EXCELLENT SALARY AND PACKAGE ESS Holdings' client is a leading global supplier of advanced semiconductor material offering the widest product range of any independent epitaxial wafer supplier in the world. They are about to go through a large expansion and need to recruit semiconductor process engineers. Reporting into the Process Engineering Manager, the Process Engineer will be a huge part of the Process Engineering team which, as a small unit, requires flexible cross boundary working. This team has the role of supporting the III-V production and product development teams in making their devices. The successful applicant will work with a team of technicians and engineers in cleanrooms, both in the UK and in offshore locations. The role combines day to day process sustaining with process development and integration. Some of your key responsibilities will include: - Own and drive continuous improvement in yield, cycle time and cost of processes - Use experience and knowledge to develop processes that are capable of meeting the product specification with high yields and low cost by employing design for manufacture; - Establish effective statistical control of processes to ensure a stable and robust processing platform; - Optimise existing processes and tools for cycle time and yield; - Develop new device processes to meet product and technology roadmap requirements; - Establish design rules to assist the product development process; - Work with equipment engineering to plan, procure and qualify new process equipment to meet the process capability requirements that are demanded by product and technology roadmaps; - Work with Process Engineering Manager to define strategy for improving the capability and capacity across a range of modules Educated to degree calibre in an engineering or scientific discipline you are an experienced Process Engineer. We are primarily looking for candidates who have worked in low to medium volume III-V, Optoelectronic or Semiconductor manufacturing. This will suit candidates from research into manufacturing businesses, defence semiconductors and may also be applicable to candidates from higher volume mainstream semiconductor or optoelectronic backgrounds. Candidates will preferably have working knowledge of a variety of process modules including: Wet/dry Etch, Photo, PCVD, Polishing, Scribe/Cleave.
