GaN PROCESS ENGINEER (III-V OPTO-ELECTONICS SEMICONDUCTORS) BASED CARDIFF - EXCELLENT SALARY AND PACKAGE ESS Holdings' client is a leading global supplier of advanced semiconductor material offering the widest product range of any independent epitaxial wafer supplier in the world. They are at the forefront of crystal growth technology and product development, supporting a range of applications for clients globally. They are about to go through a large expansion and need to make the key hires of GaN engineers. You will be part of the team responsible for the development of the GaN processes to fulfil both customer and internal requirements, with the eventual goal of transferring the process to production. This role will include: - the analysis and presentation of epitaxial growth and characterisation data, within agreed time lines and technical objectives, to project sponsors, partners and customers - documentation of procedures for both the epitaxy and engineering processes to enable GaN epitaxy to be delivered in production - overseeing the delivery of the GaN epitaxial structures - overseeing the transfer of the GaN epitaxial structures between platforms either internally or from partner organisations - Evidence-based development of GaN MOVPE growth process, focussed on fit for production performance. - Presenting the results from epitaxy development to both engineers and customers. Associated reports will be in the form of word-based documents, power point slides and data files. - Developing and documenting procedures for the operation of complex MOVPE reactors and characterisation tools - Innovation / IP generation - interface to Equipment, Operations, Supply management and Quality teams This role provides an exceptional opportunity to undertake a period of secondment with a partner organisation in Europe Involved in both epitaxy and device processing. The successful candidate should be educated to degree calibre in an engineering or scientific discipline and ideally have experience as a process engineer, experience in MOCVD and/or fabrication of GaN HFETs would be an advantage We are primarily looking for candidates who have worked in low to medium volume III-V, Optoelectronic or Semiconductor manufacturing. This will suit candidates from research into manufacturing businesses, defence semiconductors and may also be applicable to candidates from higher volume mainstream semiconductor or optoelectronic backgrounds.
