Network Security Analyst - Cardiff We at Alert Logic are looking for an experienced networking professional to join our award-winning Security Operations Centre in Cardiff as a Network Security Analyst. The Network Security Analyst will be responsible for performing accurate and precise real-time analysis and correlation of logs and alerts from a multitude of client network devices with a focus on determining if said events constitute a security incident. Working closely with other Security Analysts, the Network Security Analyst will act as an escalation point for networking queries and issues, as well as working closely with our Threat Research teams to build a view of new and emerging threats. Key role responsibilities - Perform daily expert review of customer logs from network devices - Provide technical support for customers by analysing and reviewing logs and functional events within the customers' network systems, reporting on any abnormalities - Escalate high priority technical or security related issues - Prepare for and conduct new service orientations - Provide incident and log documentation to Threat Research and other security teams Required skills and experience - Strong network engineering or administration skills - In depth configuration and troubleshooting knowledge of Cisco, Checkpoint, and Juniper technologies, including ASA, Nexus, PIX, and Catalyst. - Working knowledge of Linux and Windows systems - Advanced understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP, HTTP, BGP - Experience with network monitoring and packet analysis tools - Knowledge of the OWASP Top 10, and understanding of the Top 20 Critical Security Controls for Effective Cyber Defence. - Ability to securely lock down network devices using a hardened configuration and third party tools Desired skills and experience - Basic experience of scripting with the likes of Bash, Perl, Python, PHP, or Javascript - Knowledge of vulnerability scanning and SIEM systems - Experience working with ITIL in a customer service focused organisation In return the Network Security Analyst can expect a highly competitive salary and benefits package that includes 25 days holiday, company pension, private medical, and life assurance.
