Head of Development / Development Lead - PHP

Based from offices in Newport, this growing financial leasing company are looking for an experienced PHP Developer to come and play a major part in the company's growth plans.

The company is on the rise, having experienced 80% in the growth last year and has as a result, qualified for the 2016 Wales Fast Growth 50. You will be working on the company's award winning cutting edge platform, delivering solutions to help the company move forward. As the Head of Development you will be responsible for Strategy, assisting in the new design whilst also helping to influence new product development. The role is to take ownership of the in-house company wide application whilst utilising the latest tech to push the product forward.

All of Development is currently outsourced, so you will be the first developer on-site as they start to bring the development back in-house. The ideal candidate will have the desire to bring in and lead the development function and team.

Desired experience:
  • PHP experience
  • LAMP
  • MySQL / SQL Server
  • JIRA
  • Restful API, XML & JSON
  • HTML5 (preferably with bootstrap)
  • Node.JS (highly desirable)
  • Javascript (jQuery or Prototype)
  • Experience working on multiple projects independently whilst communicating with other areas of the business.

The Package:
  • GBP50,000 - GBP55,000 base salary
