We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable individual to join us as Programmes Manager. They will deliver effective area-based programmes that improve the life chances of children from low income households and work with others to fight the unacceptable consequences of children living in poverty.

Working in more than 120 countries, we do whatever it takes to create breakthroughs in the way the world treats children. Our UK and Global Programmes department delivers humanitarian and development programmes, builds partnerships with institutional donors - including governments, multi-laterals and trusts - and drives lasting change. Together, we save children's lives, fight for their rights and help them fulfil their potential.

As Programme Manager you will build strong relationships with local and national statuary organisations and schools to help achieve positive outcomes for children. You will also develop a clear understanding of the local area to ensure high quality programmes are delivered and ensure our programmes are sustainable. In addition you will:

Ensure programmes are coordinated and delivered to a consistently high standard across the UK through effective collaboration with UK Programme central teams
Gather programme data to support programme monitoring, evaluation and development
Support our policy, advocacy and campaigns work to influence national and local change
Support effective financial planning, including budget monitoring, donor reporting and contributing to funding applications as required
Contribute to fundraising activities and co-ordinate donor engagement visits.

To be successful you will have a good understanding of the nature and impact that poverty has on children, families and neighbourhoods and the barriers that local communities face when trying to bring about positive change. You will also have experience in project management including planning, delivery, impact and evaluation. In addition you will have:

Experience in developing, implementing and delivering programmes that work with children, young people and families living on low income
Excellent IT skills in Microsoft Office with the ability to be self-administrating
Experience in developing/delivering briefings/training to statutory services or community groups
The ability to work as a member of a team and make effective contributions to collaborative processes, whole team events and regional fundraising.

In addition, you must be willing to travel throughout the UK as required.
