Role overview: Reporting directly into the Business Unit Director the Head of Sales is responsible for leading, motivating and growing the existing sales function. This is a Player Manager opportunity and would ideally suit a lead from the front` type of character with an open door` approach to management who thrives in a performance driven and highly consultative sales environment. Our client is going through a growth phase and a crucial aspect of this role will be the ability to confidently facilitate the needed processes and behaviours within the organisation during this critical stage in order to facilitate smooth transition to the next stage of growth. Key responsibilities: - Own the commercial success of the business - Set long term vision and objectives for the sales function while making sure they are successfully and consistently executed - Lead from the front and provide adequate support to meet individual as well as team requirements - Empower a collaborative environment within the team - Create a high-energy, proactive, fun and motivational team environment shaping a culture geared towards rewarding performance and positive collaboration Requirements: - Able to demonstrate commercial success in leading and developing a sales team by building a collaborative environment - Credibility and track record in developing new business at senior Director level - Able to demonstrate success leading, developing and growing large scale Account Management and field based Business Development teams - Credibility and track record in developing junior Sales professionals - Track record of consistent quota overachievement in a Sales management capacity - Experience in consultative solution sales - Analytical and metrics driven approach to driving results including proficiency with salesforce.com or similar - Marketing skills and ability to work with Marketing teams to drive sales performance - Training and coaching certification in solution Sales methodologies (SPIN, TAS or similar) - Diplomatic flair, empathy, outstanding communication skills, outstanding listening and influencing skills - Outstanding people management skills, performance management and coaching skills - Strong leadership skills, track record of creating a positive and motivating sales environment Reward: For the right individual this role offers excellent career growth with significant earnings and longer terms opportunities.
