Based Swansea

circa £75,000 plus bonus.

Established in 2010, Gower College Swansea is one of the largest Further Education College in Wales and one of the sectors leading lights. The College has over 4,500 full time and 8,000 part time learners from across Swansea and neighbouring counties. It operates from 6 locations across the City and County of Swansea and has a current turnover of £37m with over 700 staff. The College receives excellent feedback from its students and has a reputation for delivering the highest standards of teaching and learning and maintaining this profile is a key strategic priority for the College, as it builds upon its solid foundations and continues to grow organically.

The Role

  • Reporting to the Principal, and a member of the Senior Management Group, to develop and implement an income growth strategy through the provision of training and consultancy services via the College's commercial arm GCS Training.
  • Oversee and secure future awards for government funded work based learning contracts, ensuring the delivering of high quality provision.
  • Proactively identify, develop and sustain a wide range of collaborative relationships with employers, sector skills councils and other stakeholders to maximise business opportunities for the College.

The Candidate

  • An entrepreneurial and creative self-starter with a proven track record leading a  sales or business development function, or ready to take the step into a Number 1 role.
  • Ideally working in a commercial, service-oriented environment or within a related education or commercial training setting.
  • The gravitas and credibility to act as an ambassador for the College with excellent communication, relationship-building, and partnership-working skills.

  • Yn atebol i Bennaeth y Coleg, ac aelod o'r Uwch Grŵp Rheoli, byddwch yn datblygu ac yn gweithredu strategaeth twf incwm trwy ddarparu gwasanaethau hyfforddi ac ymgynghori trwy fraich fasnachol y Coleg, Hyfforddiant GCS Training.
  • Goruchwylio a sicrhau bod y Coleg yn ennill contractau dysgu seiliedig ar waith a ariennir gan y llywodraeth yn y dyfodol, a gwneud yn siŵr bod y ddarpariaeth o safon uchel.
  • Nodi, datblygu a chynnal ystod eang o berthnasoedd cydweithredol â chyflogwyr, cynghorau sgiliau sector a rhanddeiliaid eraill i gael y cyfleoedd busnes mwyaf posibl i'r Coleg.
