Working with a Senior HR Business Partner and HR Business Partner, you will provide generalist HR advice across the Cardiff Office and support a Practice Group across the UK and Internationally. You will also be responsible for firm-wide project work and other HR activity. This is a great opportunity for someone who is keen to progress their career further a HR generalist.
•Supporting the HRBP team in the delivery of HR strategy/plan, in line with the People Strategy, within your local office. Implementing key firm wide people related initiatives.
•Working with the Senior HR Business Partner, to complete practice group reporting on firm wide HR activities, recruitment and employee relations.
•Provide guidance and support to stakeholders in respect of Eversheds Sutherland policy and procedural issues.
Manage vacancy approval, ensuring all recruitment is within headcount budget, has business case approval, and support the recruitment team to deliver external and internal recruitment.
•Support the HRBP team to deliver the annual salary review and bonus process.
•Take the lead for all core ER operations including, exit interviews, flexible working, maternity & paternity, and secondments.
Ensure the HR Centre is in timely receipt of all administration in respect of starters, leavers and contractual changes .
Monitor the probation process and provide guidance to managers on performance/development issues
Manage and monitor all temporary/fixed term contract expiry dates and consult with the relevant line manager/HRBP in relation to extensions, budget etc.
Analyse and interpret HR metrics (turnover, exit interview data, as appropriate to identify issues and make recommendations where necessary.
•Deliver HR induction and be the first point of contact for all 'first day' queries.
•Work alongside the HRBP team to organise and deliver the quarterly Senior Office Partner welcome lunch.
Skills and experience:
•Successful candidates will have experience in a generalist HR assistant role, ideally from a professional services environment, but primarily experienced in working in a large organisation.
•Experience of advising on policies and procedures.
Working knowledge of UK employment legislation and best practice, particularly in ER cases.
•Excellent IT skills; competent Excel skills are essential and competent in the use of information systems highly desirable.
Confident and credible in dealing with internal and external stakeholders and clients.
Creative, commercial and able to think laterally in identifying and developing opportunities. You will approach your work with a practical can-do mentality
Consistently positive attitude and 'can do' approach, as well as the ability being able to work well on your own initiative and as part of a wider team
Solution oriented with a lively, energetic and positive outlook. Pragmatic, robust and resourceful, with the ability to adapt quickly to different situations and personalities
