SETTLEMENTS ANALYST WHOLESALE - ENERGY PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT CARDIFF SALARY £24,197 - £31,960 DEPENDING ON SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE PERMANENT AND 12 MONTH FIXED TERM ROLES AVAILABLE At SSE, we believe in making a difference. We have announced investment of £6bn in GB and Irish energy markets, in the past year alone, and employ over 19,000 people across Great Britain and Ireland, to ensure we can provide the energy that people need, in a reliable and sustainable way. Energy Portfolio Management (EPM) is an exciting and dynamic area of the Company, responsible for managing the many and significant financial risks and opportunities associated with the operation of our generation and supply assets. The EPM Settlements teams based in Cardiff are responsible for the verification and settlement of a wide variety of wholesale energy charges for a range of products and commodities, relating to the activities of SSE as a Generator, Supplier and Trading Party in Great Britain and Ireland. You will be responsible for the analysis of data, verification of invoices, identifying and investigating discrepancies to identify root causes and taking ownership of queries through to resolution whilst keeping stakeholders informed. You should prioritise tasks to meet deadlines with minimal supervision in a busy environment including developing and adapting processes, develop and prepare reports and making recommendations based on your analysis and research while maintaining compliance with regulatory, market and contractual obligations. To be successful in this role you will have previous experience in a similar role and with strong numerical and analytical skills. You will promote and support a right first time approach where lessons are learned. The ability to produce work to a high standard, good attention to detail and a positive approach to problem solving are all essential for this role. You should have a working knowledge across all Microsoft Office Packages. Working closely with other members of EPM, you will need to be an effective communicator. If you have the skills to work in an environment that is passionate about safety, innovation, teamwork and excellence in everything we do, we'd like to hear from you. There may be the opportunity to offer flexible working patterns for this role. Closing date for applications is Friday 30th of June 2017 If successful we will ask you to complete a verification and vetting process. This will include a basic criminal record check.
