Due to this huge acquisition and the amount of new offices opening around the world to keep up the demand I am looking for a Data Engineer to the newly formed Data Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing their brand new analytics platform. You will be given the chance to review current processes and then re-write and set up what you feel is best moving forward, free run to do what you want You will be putting the entire infrastructure in place and be responsible for matching the correct technology to meet the requirements of their analytics platform. The company has grown a lot and is still growing rapidly, and they have recently secured another floor to centralize in IT Department brand new state of the art office in Cardiff. You really will be joining the company at a really exciting time and the company will expect you to push the boundaries know enough about the technology that you can asses the situation quickly and get up to speed- That's the really exciting bit Key skills required: - Minimum of 3 years working with Data - Experience with Hadoop and/or Spark - Exposure to one of the following - Pig or Hive - Hbase or Presto - ElasticSearch, Logstash or Kibana - AWS, Data Lake or Oracle RDBMS - Experience designing and building data pipelines with a Hadoop eco system using: - Java, Python or Scala. - MPP - Enterprise Datawarehousing. - Unix admistartion tasks - SOAP and Restful Web services.
