An exciting opportunity has opened up in Cardiff Benefits: - Competitive Salary - Company Car - 27 Annual leave plus Bank Holidays - Pension - Health Cash Plan - Flexible working Responsibilities - Visit sites regularly to ensure problems are proactively identified and managed, supporting as necessary site staff to ensure a successful prompt outcome elevating as necessary to the Commercial Director significant issue or those which would have a wider business impact. - Implement new ideas and methods and continue to seek ways of both improving contribution to the organisation's goals and enhancing the reputation of the company, championing where required key initiatives. - Fully support Company purchasing deals ensuring where possible that the full benefit of these is returned to the business. - Lead, motivate, communicate with, develop, appraise and performance manage staff to ensure staff are fully motivated to achieve best performance to meet the company's needs. - Provide advice to the Commercial Director and colleagues on amendments to standard forms and bespoke forms of contract. Negotiating terms with the customer to ensure compliance with company guidelines and any other directions given by the Commercial Director. - To take responsibility for the successful award and delivery of the portfolio of projects allocated. In conjunction with the Partnerships Director, ensure the timely progression to site and delivery on site. Embrace the team ethos and actively ensure effective dialogue and communication with all members to ensure the goals are understood and focus is maintained. - To assist colleagues in the progression of business opportunities by taking ownership of contract related matters, this will include but not limited to:- - Review of Contracting and Commercial Terms. - Input into the preparation of Contractors Proposals. - Preparation of a Cash flow and Contract sum analysis. - Ensuring Risk and opportunity has been adequately identified. About yourself The ideal candidate will have past experience and will match with the following; - The ability to understand and an empathy with the Company's Values and culture. - Disciplined and well organised to support the Company's defined process. - Honesty, integrity and trustworthy approach. - Highly enthusiastic and self-motivated and have the ability to galvanise and motivate others. - Ability to focus on the important goals and objectives. - Team working skills - Excellent interpersonal skills. - Attention to detail. - Desire to train and develop others Requirements Please find below some of the key requirements needed to be able progress your application further; - Knowledge of current working practices and procedures. - Knowledge of construction contracts and documents (particularly JCT contracts). - Good administrative and communication skills. - Sound commercial judgement and discernment. - MS Word/Excel to intermediate level. - Ability to identify and evaluate risks. Desirable: - RICS, CIOB or similar construction qualification. - Knowledge of Coins and Conquest software packages. - Knowledge of PPC2000 and NEC forms of contract. - Track record for securing construction contracts. - Understanding and experience in supply chain partnering. - Experience in training surveyors. - Tendering and estimating experience.
