Head of Operations £40,000 (pro rata considered) South Wales Yolk Recruitment has been retained to recruit on behalf of this exciting and rapidly growing business in the recruitment of a Head of Operations. You'll play a key role in helping drive the continued success of the business with varied strategic input into business operations ranging from the improvement of work plans and processes to the implementation and utilisation of new technology to improve business processes. This business has achieved its ambitious financial targets as a result of aninnovative approach and the pace of growth is expected to continue. We're looking for an ambitious leader with a demonstrable record of innovating, strategic planning and delivery and the potential to grow as the business does. The Role The Head of Operations will work with external partners and be responsible for all aspects of service operations, ensuring delivery of services in line with contract and achieving high quality and positive outcomes for customers and clients. You'll have wide ranging responsibilities for the performance and development of internal services and operations. The post offers significant opportunities for innovation, development and growth of existing services, working closely with counterpart roles in partner organisations. The post holder will also work with the Managing Director, as part of a Senior Management Team, to implement the strategic plans and overall management of the business, ensuring the successful strategic development of the organisation, including business planning, internal policies, procedures and quality management standards, cross-departmental working and external relations. The Head of Operations will be required to represent the organisation at a senior level both internally and externally. The post holder will require business and financial acumen to ensure that current and future operations continue on a sustainable and viable basis and can evidence positive outcomes and value in the market we are operating in. Main Responsibilities: Staff and Resource Management Production and implementation of operational work plans - Management of all staff and resources to achieve required service response, quality and cost performance indicators - Management and monitoring of services budgets including analysis, reporting and action on variances - Development and oversight of service staff appraisal and supervision systems and in line with required competencies - Resolving performance issues among staff engaged in services. - Principal responsibility (delegated by MD) for Health & Safety and ensuring safe systems of work using Risk assessments and Method Statements ("RAMS") - Principal responsibility for driving continuous improvement and introducing management systems that comply with ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001. Will be required to take lead in obtaining external accreditation for the above standards. Managing Contract Performance: - Monitoring performance against targets and deliverables for all contracts including performance of any sub-contracting partners - Financial tracking and monitoring of contract income (alongside the Head of Finance) - Ensuring contractual compliance - Reporting contract performance trends and issues to service delivery staff and senior management Relationship Management: - Maintain strong relationships with supply partners and clients - Attend Partnership Meetings for contracts - Manage relationships with partners Reporting: - Production of monthly KPI Management reports for internal senior management decision making - Service level reports as requested by the MD Service and Business Development: - Analysis of performance leading to service changes and improvements to increase service levels customer satisfaction and perceived value of the service - Development of workforce plans including competency frameworks to meet the operational requirements of the organisation - Management of change plans including internal and external communications, HR and related technical issues. - Production and presentation of reports and updates to MD, to support internal strategic and performance review processes (including to Board) - Develop a strategy to improve service objectives with our key/major accounts Qualifications, Skills & Experience - Degree educated or equivalent - Professional, experienced, approachable and decisive leader - Create of culture of customer first & lead by example - Experience working with SME business and implementing high level commercial strategy - Has demonstrated an ability to take on new and greater responsibility quickly. - Schooled in quality management, continuous improvement, ERP or other operational techniques for best utilisation of resources - Computer literate - Experience of logistics and material/stock management (inessential) - Experience of management systems to conform to such as ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 - Experience of having supervised staff - minimum of 5 reports - Driving licence If you feel you have the skills, experience and passion to be successful in this role apply now.
