Key Competency: Experience of driving and delivering against targets and deadlines in a high volume environment. Qualification/NVQ 5 Degree or professional qualification /NVQ 4 A level/ NVQ 3 - required GCSE/ NVQ 1 or 2 Any other requirements for this role: Certificate in Management NVQ in Team Leading/ Supervising Relative Experience: Seasoned professional with considerable experience. Proficiency in a specialised field with deep/broad knowledge built on concepts and principles. Professional or academic with combination of applied and theoretical knowledge, and extensive practical and relevant experience Advanced vocational application of specialised methods, techniques and processes - on the job applied experience rather than theoretical Vocational knowledge and insight required for practical application of methods and techniques, knowledge typically acquired through technical training. Previous experience in the automotive industry with 3-5 years experience in a supervisory/management role in a high volume environment Elementary vocational - knowledge limited to standardised work routines and methods, on the job training required. Primary - basic knowledge through simple instruction - No experience required Key Accountabilities which add value to the business: To establish and maintain a zero PPM culture through team quality awareness, ownership of production trials, effective use of the Organisations QMS. To undertake and efficiently manage area LPA audits. To establish and maintain accurate manning conditions. To drive optimisation of labour and headcount by critically analysing the Unit structure and processes. Drive job combinations, review volumes and maintain RTO ( required to operate) To ensure best practices are being used to drive towards operational excellence. Ensure parts meet strict quality parameters. Work proactively with all shifts & areas to analyse production failures & develop long term plans to minimise product variability & specification inconsistency. To establish a strong team working environment by communicating and developing a common goal and motivate the team to drive towards the Company KPI's, developing Unit shift Leaders to create the conditions for autonomous high performing teams. Role model and instill the company procedures,e.g.stop call wait, first off last off and HR procedures whilst adopting a structured approach to day to day activities, e.g. standardised day, shift briefings, and pace boards. Utilise 5S philosophy to maintain and improve housekeeping achieving world class standards with adherence to Kamishibai systems developing and maintaining the 10 point housekeeping score. To identify and analyse losses to drive cost reduction targets., reduce waste and improve efficiency's. To implement all elements of Company Safety First culture e.g. Zero Tolerance and build a zero risk environment by critically analysing safety and near miss reports whilst holding Unit Shift Leaders accountable to take relevant actions with a sense of urgency. To maintain discipline across the area and shift and follow through on supporting Unit Shift Leaders where necessary. Effectively manage and maintain training levels and ongoing development of staff skills matrices. To serve as an official Site representative to the Customer. Meet established Customer specifications concerning cycle time, quality, cost etc. Implement preventative and corrective measures to ensure Customer demand is adequately met. To drive process and system into daily standardised work practices through the TPS philosophy, TWI Training and Daily Audits in area of their responsibility.
