Do you have experience of working with pupils who have English as an additional language? A large multi-culture school in Cardiff are looking for a passionate Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant with experience of working with children in need of EAL support. The school is looking for people with a Level 3 in Learning Support, who can commit to at least 3 days a week from October, with a view to continuing on until the end of the term. As well as providing tuition support to develop students' language skills, you will also be asked to provide practical assistance to the staff and cater for the personal welfare and educational needs of the pupils. Experience of behavioural or SEMH support is also desirable as is experience in Read Write Inc. You will be responsible for assisting the Teacher in planning and delivering class activities, support and work with individuals and small groups on all stages of language development, contribute to the management of pupil behaviour and assist the teacher to prepare the classroom including materials and equipment. The working hours for this role are 8.30 - 03:15, Monday, Tuesday and Friday, with 30 minutes for lunch.
