Client Details Based in Cardiff my client are a leading global manufacturing business supplying into a range of industries. This newly created position would suit somebody who can demonstrate a successful career record in lean and continuous improvement deployment and development. Description As Lean Manager you will be responsible for implementing and overseeing the business operational system. In addition the Lean Manager will be involved in establishing, coordinating and providing leadership within site improvement projects. These projects should be integrated with the region/plants lean deployment efforts and meet the guidelines, criteria and metrics established by the business within operational system. Responsibilities include: - Lead local improvement projects and effectively coordinate these projects with the Regional Director Improvement project teams. - Responsible for project leadership which will include identifying opportunities, defining and financially justifying projects, launching project teams, using good project management to perform team activities. - Leading teams to execute projects utilising problem-solving methodology, tracking project status and results, removing and elevating project barriers, and developing team members. - Identify integration issues with other projects/processes and coordinate the improvements with the appropriate project/process owners to accomplish project goals - Deploy locally the operational system. - Train and coach local managers and plant teams. - Scope projects in support of the system and productivity requirements. - Lead kaizen events to deliver target improvements. - Manage the development and maintenance of methods and systems for measuring the degree to which the project goals, objectives and metrics are being met. - Ensure projects are integrated with other business activities, improvement projects, and business strategy. - Report on program status and ensure coordination of activities between other Plants in Europe. This includes capturing project lessons or best practice learned that can be re-used for other projects. Profile To be considered as Lean Manager for my client based in Cardiff you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience: - Ideally Degree qualified or equivalent in an Engineering discipline. - You will ideally be a certified Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt. - Advanced knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques with a proven track record of delivering positive cost, quality and performance results. - You will demonstrate a successful track record of change, process improvement and implementing lean/six sigma methodologies. - Excellent knowledge and experience of statistical analysis / methodology. - An effective verbal and written communicator all levels of the organisation. - Good knowledge of SAP. - Good understanding of Quality and Financial principles. - Excellent leadership skills Job Offer Circa £55,000, pension, health, bonus and company car.
