Our high quality services and resources are informed by research and best practice, to provide those working with children with the confidence, knowledge and skills to safeguard them.
This post contributes to the work of a unique and highly influential initiative to protect all children from abuse in and through sport. The Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) was set up by respective home country sports councils and the NSPCC to translate into action ambitious plans to raise safeguarding awareness, standards, knowledge and skills throughout sport. We are seeking a high calibre candidate who combines significant experience of safeguarding children with sound knowledge and understanding of the sports sector and the role it plays in keeping children safe from harm.
You will need to possess excellent communication, training and consultancy skills and the ability to deliver on a wide range of projects. The post has a particular focus on supporting a cohort of Sport Wales funded national governing bodies of sport to meet safeguarding requirements. The post holder will also represent the Unit in a range of multi-agency forums including those linked to the Sport Safeguarding Partnership strategy in Wales.
The post is based in Cardiff and involves travel throughout Wales, including some unsocial hours.
