Part-Time Finance Controller / Assistant Accountant CatSci Ltd, based in Cardiff, UK, is a specialised chemical contract research organisation. As the company project portfolio continues to grow, CatSci now requires an experienced Part-Time Finance Controller/Assistant Accountant to join a highly dynamic team in a world-class facility. Location: Cardiff, Glamorgan Contract: Permanent, Part-Time (16h per week) to start immediately Salary: Competitive, Negotiable DOE, pro-rated to 16 hours and annual bonus This is as a job share with the current part-time Finance Controller. The post will report directly to a company director. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: • Data entry for all aspects of the company’s books including foreign currency transactions • Management of receivables and payables including sales invoicing • Processing of employee credit card and out of pocket expense claims • Bank and credit card reconciliation • Quarterly VAT return • Cash-flow forecasting and preparation of monthly management accounts • Payroll administration • Benefits-in-kind reporting including P11Ds and PAYE settlement agreements • Develop and monitor internal controls, KPIs and processes ensuring best practice • General administration The ideal Financial Controller would have: • ACCA or CIMA qualification. Candidates who are part qualified or qualified by appropriate experience of bookkeeping will also be considered • Experience of a scientific or engineering service industry • In-depth Sage 50 Accounts experience including foreign currency transactions • Good knowledge of UK VAT, payroll and UK tax policies • Working knowledge of a wide range of company financial activities and Sage 50 Forecasting • Experience of working with foreign currency transactions would be advantageous • Excellent attention to detail and levels of accuracy • Willingness to grow, develop and expand with the business • Strong communication skills at all levels and excellent team worker. • The ability to work independently, manage own time and take responsibility for tasks to meet required deadlines • The ability to work collaboratively within a job share position If you are interested in this position, please submit your CV and covering letter, outlining why you would like this exciting opportunity and how you believe you are qualified for this demanding and rewarding role.
