As we continue to grow and take the business to the next level, we have a unique opportunity for a Head of Retail to own the development and management of our standalone stores & new business ideas. This role will suit a highly commercial, hands-on, entrepreneurial retailing professional with experience at retail senior manager level. As guardian of the brand from a sales point of view and responsible for delivering sales KPIs for the retail business, you will need to blend a highly commercial approach with an understanding of the brand and our unique approach to customer service. Ideally you will also have a good working knowledge of the smaller format stores through the direct management of stores or through having worked in a business with exposure to this channel. Description Main Purpose of Job: To deliver against the strategic plans for our own stores and 3rd party retail. To instigate and deliver all new retail distribution in line with agreed business strategies. Lead and inspire the retail team in the development and delivery of their departmental plans whilst achieving exceptional levels of customer service. Working with the MD and Leadership team, develop the Retail Strategic Plan. Define and set strategic objectives for the individual retail channels, identifying appropriate new retail stores as well as continuing to develop existing retail stores relationships and performances Be responsible for forensic monitoring of retail sales activity against forecast and qualitative feedback from each member of the team, reporting back to the business both formally and informally. Be responsible and strong in ensuring that standards of brand presentation, visibility, opportunities and exceptional customer service are to our exacting standards and achieving what the business needs. Personally handle retailer negotiations when appropriate and lead negotiations for new opportunities in line with our brand ethos and customer expectations. Be proactive in reviewing contracts and terms, being strong in protecting the customer's and Company's interests. Lead and inspire the retail team to deliver the activities in the specific retailer account plans on time, on budget and to the highest possible standard. Lead by example. Recruit and effectively introduce new members to the team. Coach and develop the team of Area Managers. Champion the performance review process, identify high performers and manage their career development. Ensure clear, relevant and appropriate communication and strong, collaborative working relationships with managers and other departments across the business. With your team, carry out and manage the budgeting and forecasting process, manage the budgets and undertake monthly financial reporting and analysis against budget and forecasts. Champion and deliver the 'Precious Recipe' and demonstrate this through your overall approach to the role and other people both inside and outside the Company. Profile Successful track record of working at a senior operational level (ideally senior manager/junior director level) Experience must include a strong track record of retail sales success achieved through building traditional bricks and mortar business as well as retailer online stores. It must include a sound working knowledge of all operational and staffing requirements for standalone retail stores and 3rd party retail as a minimum. Experience of working within retail small format stores, but at the very least, a real passion and interest in retail. Highly commercial and analytical & high competency levels in excel; word; and power point. Strict attention to detail. Excellent communication skills & rigorous and exacting standards.
