Our client is an innovative not-for-profit organisation that helps to make life better for older people in the UK. They are now looking for a Senior Technical Support Officer to join their team in Cardiff. Within a culture of support and respect, you will have the chance to undertake great training and play an integral role in enabling the day-to-day running of the charity. As a Senior Technical Support Officer, you will develop, support and understand our client’s key technical and infrastructure systems. In this exciting role, you will ensure that technical solutions and services are available to the organisation in-line with SLAs. You’ll install and configure hardware and applications, as well as supporting the roll-out of new systems and technologies. Additionally, you will: - Assist users with technical issues, both remotely and face-to-face - Support internal servers and networks - Ensure the security of our client’s network, infrastructure and data - Provide weekend on-call cover as part of a rota To be considered, you will need experience of the following: - Troubleshooting hardware and software related incidents - Working with end users to resolve incidents - 2012 RDP technologies - Working within an enterprise class LAN/WAN environment - Working within a Hyper C 2012 environment - Dell ISCI and Capella Sans Knowledge of the following is also essential: - Windows 2003 – 2012 Server architecture - IP and routing technologies - Backup software, such as Backup Exec and BCP planning The ideal Senior Technical Support Officer will be a Microsoft MTA or Microsoft Certified Specialist. An ITIL Foundation certificate would also be beneficial, as would a CCNA qualification. Experience of working with Barracuda and/or Juniper and Dell systems would also be an advantage.
