A long established expanding multinational company requires an a fully experienced Logistics Co-ordinator. SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTIONS: Direct, manage and coordinate logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer service activities. Lead and direct strategic planning for logistics and customer services. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate UK and International shipments Coordinate International Imports Ensure cost effective and timely delivery/receipt of goods to/from all overseas and UK destinations Liaise with external bodies on behalf of the company as and when necessary (Chamber of Commerce on creation of Letter of Credit) Negotiate cost effective land, sea and air transport contracts Ensure all shipping procedures and documentation meet current export legislation Oversee/process creation of packing notes for goods that have been packed for despatch Process the creation of all necessary documents (including commercial invoices) ensuring they are legal and correct Sign on behalf of the company export documentation in accordance with legal requirements Ensure business and customer requirements are met whilst taking into account all relevant and current Export legislation, procedures, requirements and documentation. Liaise with other company departments to ensure good communication of despatch requirements Prepare Intrastat returns Sales Invoicing Apply for Bank Guarantees Contract Review Orders Credit Insurance Returns SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCES REQUIRED Extensive experience within the Logistics function of a manufacturing organisation is essential (10 years) Qualification in logistics/supply chain an advantage but not essential Comprehensive knowledge of current export legislation, documentation and procedures for both European and non European countries, including VAT regulations.
