To lead Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council through this ambitious phase and beyond, we're looking to appoint a Managing Director who shares our visions and values.

In this top level role, you'll operate a ‘One Council' approach, lead the senior management team and be our principle policy advisor. This means you'll have ultimate responsibility for aligning our services with the Council strategy and policy and ensuring they're delivered effectively.

Actively contributing to Local Government reform, maximising the impact of the City Deal, supporting local partnerships and creating opportunities for people in Blaenau Gwent is also key to this role.

You'll work closely with council members and senior officers of Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council to promote relationships that will benefit people across the whole region.

You'll have a degree-level professional qualification and demonstrable experience of leadership, senior management and change in the public sector. You'll understand finance and the role of the Welsh Government; and matching your thorough understanding of future developments in local and national government are political awareness and sensitivity.
