A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join a leading manufacturing organisation based in Cardiff. The role, is looking for someone to create and implement the best practices across an end to end Supply Chain including Planning, Procurement, Logistics, Inventory Management and Production Scheduling. Key Responsibilities for the Supply Chain Manager - To strategize, propose, implement, command and manage all supply chain activities - Support operations in achieving overall net value, a competitive infrastructure, synchronising supply with demand and manging performance - Establishing an ongoing purchasing culture of reducing spend - Reviewing supplier performance and attend review meetings - Continually improve on Supplier Performance across delivery, quality and cost - To review processes and procedures to improve functionality, making changes where required - Oversee the scheduling of work, ensuring that the production schedule is planned and balanced always - Manage material and production expectations proactively - Identify and report any potential risks within production pans to the Operations Director - Review and validate or create and implement the best practice principles of logistics, including policies and processes, to improve performance across the business - Maintain high levels of quality and service within budgetary requirements - Source transportation and logistics providers, negotiate rates and agree contracts Key Requirements for the Supply Chain Manager - Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment - Thorough understanding of MRP / ERP software - Excellent communication skills both written and oral with all internal and external stakeholders - Superb time management and ability to handle pressure and have a sense of urgency - Strong negotiation skills and commercially aware - Intermediate or Advanced excel user This role will suit someone with previous experience in Supply Chain Management, Procurement Management, Purchasing, Logistics Management, Production Planning, Material Scheduling, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Engineering or Construction Industries.
