Software Project Manager, Cardiff, £45,000-£60,000 Excellent Benefits My client, a leading Financial Services company based in the heart of Cardiff is currently looking to recruit a strong Software Project Manager who will be responsible for leading the delivery of a range of projects in one of their core product areas. As part of the role, the Project Manager will have responsibility for leading a multi-disciplinary team which will include Developers, BAs and QAs, so the role requires a strong element of team management and as such, the ideal candidate will be able to display a range of leadership skills. Responsibilities - Management of a Product Team responsible for delivering the IT elements of projects - Creation and maintenance of delivery plans, including estimations of time and cost - Ensuring delivery is against plan and budget for analysis, development and testing - To ensure provision of Product Continuous Improvement for all systems within the Product Team - To ensure that all documentation for adherence to department process is accurate, relevant and up to date - To run vantage and 121`s for all direct reports - To develop strong working relationships with key teams within the business, primarily Business Change and IT Services, but involve maintaining relationships with business areas where IT has an impact - To keep up to date with trends and new technology in IT. To make recommendations to senior management that could provide improvements to the comapnies IT systems and processes. - To ensure that regular and adhoc management reports are produced accurately and on time - To ensure that the Product Team is adequately resourced - Ensuring that the right development resource is available for projects - Managing the sourcing of additional IT staff whether they are permanent or contract, to include the interviewing of potential staff and influencing hiring decisions - Providing recommendations to senior management and management of additional resource requirements during all phases of Product Team work - To ensure that all systems are developed in accordance with defined processes (SDLC, Agile, Scrum, etc.) and the IT Architecture for the organisation - Promote and embrace a culture of continuous improvement being open and proactive to improvements and carrying out improvements in line with the corporate methodology. Person Specification - Experience of delivering a broad portfolio of software projects - Experienced in both line and career management - Demonstrable experience in a systems development role - Strong communications skills with the added ability of being able to provide non-technical explanations to a technical problem - Preferably educated to degree level To apply for this role, please forward a copy of your CV immediately.
