We believe in hiring talented people of varied backgrounds, experiences and styles - people like you Role Summary/Purpose The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the production ramp up and continuous improvement of new equipment and technologies installed in the Forensic Device production area. Identify, define and implement ongoing upgrades and improvements on equipment.Drive improvements in OEE through increased up time and reduced change-over times and ensuring ongoing process flexibility. A focus is also required to work with Global Sourcing to optimize supplier packaging/component presentation. Essential Responsibilities - Lead Engineer for production ramp up of new equipment installed in the Forensic Device production area. - Development and upgrades, where required, on key manufacturing process in line with the business requirements and customer orders. - Define and improve the manufacturing processes and standards to achieve the measured targets of a sustained OEE greater than 60% within three months. - Ensure that changes are recorded in relevant documents (Process Flows, Assembly Drawings, Visual Aids etc). Ensure all production tooling have accurate and up to date drawings. - Drive improvement projects from manufacturing data, working as a team with Production Management, Quality and Maintenance to continually improve processes and ensures transfer of knowledge throughout the production units. - Optimization of Raw Material and WIP, working with the Global Sourcing team and suppliers to define specifications and implement. - Education and training of the technical team (Engineering and Maintenance) on equipment to ensure base level of knowledge to resolve issues. Quality Specific Goals: - Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position - Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines - Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required - Knowledge and understanding of document control, design transfer, verification, validation, acceptance activity, DMR, DHR and electronic signature requirements to ensure that product, equipment, tools, processes, software, training and documentation meet requirements. Qualifications/Requirements - Degree (related Engineering Discipline) or equivalent knowledge and experience - Experience in a similar large volume manufacturing environment, specifically in - New be-spoke equipment installation and production ramp up. - Control Systems, Robotics and Automation (preferred Mitsubishi). - Problem solving/Trouble shooting using problem solving tools and techniques to ensure permanent fixes are implemented. - Ability to work on their own and in teams to achieve set targets and expectations. Desired Characteristics - Ability to develop robot code and program PLC's - Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems, machine design and operation, machine capability and analysis, problem solving methods, quick change over methods and capital budget preparation - Working knowledge of Clean room manufacturing. - Excellent administrative and interpersonal skills, with ability and confidence to effectively interface with senior management and high profile clients. - Familiarity and working knowledge of relational databases and knowledge of the GE Internet, Support Central and other relevant applications desirable. - Extremely well organized, with attention to detail, yet able to multi-task in an environment of changing priorities. - Intellectually sharp, able to grasp concepts and think/learn quickly. - Professional approach, good judgment, creative problem-solver. Possessing the personal drive and commitment to implement innovative solutions. - Ability to accepting constructive criticism and deal calmly and effectively with high-stress situations. This includes continuing to persevere and remaining calm in challenging or frustrating circumstances. - A self-starter able to work on own initiative and well in a team environment.
