Van Sales Representative
Meridian Business Support is actively looking to recruit a Van Sales Representative for a leading Food manufacturer and distributor in South Wales. The purpose of the role will be to deliver pre-ordered frozen, fresh and ambient products to commercial premises within Cardiff and surrounding areas whilst building sales through the aim of up selling additional product lines and promotional offers that you will either already stock or need to order. Due to the nature of the products, they will require early delivery (typical, 5.00am start) therefore it is essential that you are able to commit to being an early riser. Typical early start, early finish. You will be allocated your own territory and customers and will be required to identify and win new business. Additionally to selling, you will be required to manage stock rotation, Cash handling and waste management whilst adhering to weekly targets. You will also be expected to manage your own basic account management and reporting. Your day to day duties will also include: - Pre- route planning - Completing temperature checks of fridge and freezers - Completing stock checks, highlighting any discrepancies - Competing accurate records such as temperature check sheets, Vehicle check sheets (oil, tyres, water etc) - Completing a visual inspection of the vehicle to ensure that it accurately represents the companies high standards - Familiarising yourself with the pricing of each products, promotion items and relevant information and well as your own personal sales targets and expectations. You will be allocated with a 7.5 ton vehicle or small Transit. Therefore you will ideally hold a Category C1 entitlement. This is not essential if allocated a small transit. A CPC (Drivers Certificate of professional Competence would be an advantage. You must be a confident communicator and an excellent relationship builder. You will be meeting with your customers on a weekly basis and therefore it is imperative that you are able to build great relationships. Due to insurance purposes, applicants must be 25 and over and have no more that 6 points to your license. In return you can expect a competitive salary of between £20 - £22k with OTE of around £27k although commission is uncapped, so you are able to sell until your hearts content Benefits also include company Pension, 20 days holidays Bank holidays and childcare voucher scheme.
