In particular, we are looking to recruit a Town Planner to join the Team in our Cardiff office. Ideally, you will have at least 2 years' experience either within a Consultancy or with Local Government. You will be providing quality planning support to colleagues and senior members of the Planning Department. The key responsibilities of the role are as follows:- Undertake research and analysis Prepare planning appraisals of land, buildings and concepts Prepare planning applications, including planning statements Contribute to the preparation/editing of planning supporting statements Liaise with planning officers, employees of consultee organisations and third parties. Liaise with clients and fellow professionals Prepare for and attend meetings with senior members of staff Ensure compliance with planning regulations Assist in developing creative and original solutions to satisfy all parties Maintain an awareness of market conditions and the impact of government policies Keep informed about documents relating to planning policy and practice You will need to be able to work effectively as part of a team and possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral. You will also need to have a flexible and creative nature, with a conscientious attitude and excellent attention to detail. You will need to be have completed an MRTPI accredited course and be working towards - or have achieved - MRTPI status. You will also need to have a detailed knowledge of the UK Planning system.
