Head of Platform Governance & Control

As a Barclays Head of Platform Governance & Control you will be a core part of the Channel Islands Platform Management Team and will carry key responsibilities in respect of the Governance & Control of Barclays Bank Plc across both the Jersey and Guernsey Branch. You will formally report to the Channel Islands Platform Director and will be required to work closely with the Channel Islands Head of Platform Risk and a number of key first and second line of defence for stakeholders in Jersey, Guernsey, the Isle of Man and the UK.

As a Head of Platform Governance & Control, your main responsibilities will involve:
• Acting as a subject matter expert (SME) and Channel Islands representative to a number of regulatory and mandatory projects affecting the Overseas Services business
• Overseeing Governance & Control returns to various Group and local Committees (involving the development and provision of a robust suite of Management Information (MI))
• Supporting outsourcing and owning the Governance & Control of outsourced / insourced services for the Bank, bringing in SMEs where required
• Accountability as a trusted authority on Jersey & Guernsey financial regulatory frameworks, ensuring ongoing adherence with Regulatory Guidance and Codes of Business
• Attending / deputising at various formal Governance committee meetings
• Controlling the use and integrity of the Bank's data

As a Head of Platform Governance & Control, your skills and qualifications will include:
• A strong technical understanding of client issues (including complex corporate and private wealth structures)
• Being objective in the management of Risk, Governance & Control issues and take an independent view and possessing strong analytical skills
• A detailed technical knowledge of Customer Due Diligence (CDD), anti-money laundering (AML),

Countering Financial Terrorism (CFT), sanctions, reputational risk, fraud and operational risk
• A need for thoroughness, ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and attention to detail
• A strong capability to communicate with people at various levels in a large matrix organisation
