HR BUSINESS PARTNER / GENERALIST - MANUFACTURING / ENGINEERING

BASED CARDIFF - GBP30-37,000 PLUS EXTENSIVE BENEFITS PACKAGE

Edgar Stewart's client is a leading global supplier of advanced semiconductor materials. It has over 50% share in the global market for advanced mobile communications materials, and is rapidly growing in its other markets which include photonics, high efficiency solar power generation, advanced infra-red, power switching and LEDs. AIM listed and with it headquarters in Cardiff, they employ approximately 550 staff throughout its operations in the UK, the US and Asia. At this stage the HR Director needs to make the key hire of a HR Business Partner / Generalist.

Reporting into the HRD, the HR Business Partner will manage all aspects of recruitment including attracting, identifying and hiring talent into the organisation, before moving into a broader generalist role and supporting the HRD in all areas, succession planning, training, compensation, employee relations and building a leading employer brand globally. Other key responsibilities will include:

- Develop, maintain and continually refresh the recruitment program and sources to attract high calibre candidates and ensure positions are filled in an effective and compliant manner.
- Utilisation of pschycometric testing, competency based interviewing, personality & team assessments
- Develop and facilitate all aspects of the induction program to include company overview, human resources and benefits, payroll, IT, quality and safety.
- Coordinate via/work permit requirements applications, utilising agent where required
- Benchmarking salary & compensation packages to ensure the business remains competitive & attractive to candidates
- Conduct stay & exit interviews
- Create, revise and maintain job descriptions
- Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures
- Assist with training and development initiatives such as assessing the current skill levels of all staff, discussing training requirements with staff, developing training programs & suggesting training resources.
- Comply with legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation.
- Train hiring managers in best practice recruitment methods, competency based interviewing and legal requirements.

We are looking for an experienced HR professional, preferably degree qualified or with CIPD accreditation. This business is about to experience a significant people ramp, so a passion and genuine enjoyment of recruitment is crucial initially before the role grows. This will suit candidates from a range of backgrounds, preferably manufacturing or engineering and with an early HR career in recruitment. Experience of designing creative recruitment campaigns whilst employing modern technology, delivering psychometric testing and competency based interviewing would be a distinct advantage.
