About the role
We are currently looking for an Information Worker to work across Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend for 21 hours per week.

This is an exciting opportunity to really make a difference. As an Information Worker you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and making available a range of high quality information and publicity materials to people in the local area. You will maintain an up to date source of books, videos, articles and press cuttings regarding dementia care and developments in research. Using this wealth of information you will assist enquirers in assessing their needs, providing them with relevant information and signposting to appropriate services.

You will act as a representative of the Alzheimer's Society externally, establishing and maintaining good relationships with local GP surgeries, libraries, hospitals, churches etc. You will raise awareness of dementia and Society's services by organising promotional events, giving talks to community groups, liaising with the media and actively exploring new possibilities for awareness raising.

About you
We are looking for someone who has attained NVQ level 2 or equivalent. You will also have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex issues to people of all backgrounds, levels of understanding. Add to this an understanding of dementia and experience of providing information (preferably information on health or social care) and you will quickly establish yourself as a key member of our local team.
