Members, Advisory Committee for Wales

Ofcom is seeking to appoint members to its Advisory Committee for Wales

The Committee provides advice to Ofcom about the interests and opinions of people living in Wales on communications matters including commercial television and radio broadcasting, telecoms and spectrum issues and also postal services. This is an opportunity for you to make a significant contribution to an important industry. Candidates should have knowledge of, or interest in, communications matters.

The committee meets up to 5 times per year and all members are asked to commit themselves to a total of 12 days per year to this work for which Ofcom will pay an annual fee and reasonable expenses.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge and/or interest in communications matters.
  • An understanding of Ofcom's role and responsibilities in an increasingly complex political landscape.
  • An understanding of Wales' evolving economy, society and culture.
  • The ability to understand and articulate the diverse needs and views of citizens and consumers in Wales.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of committee.

Mae Ofcom am benodi aelodau ar  ei Bwyllgor Cynghori yng Nghymru Mae'r Pwyllgor yn cynghori Ofcom ynghylch buddiannau a barn pobl sy'n byw yng Nghymru ar faterion cyfathrebu gan gynnwys darlledu radio a theledu masnachol, telegyfathrebu a materion sy'n ymwneud a sbectrwm a gwasanaethau post. Dyma gyfle i chi wneud cyfraniad sylweddol at ddiwydiant pwysig. Dylai ymgeiswyr feddu ar wybodaeth sy'n ymwneud a materion cyfathrebu neu fod a diddordeb yn y maes.

Bydd y pwyllgor yn cwrdd 5 gwaith y fiwyddyn a bydd gofyn i'r holt aelodau ymrwymo i gyfanswm o 12 diwrnod y fiwyddyn a bydd Ofcom yn talu ffi flynyddol a threuliau rhesymol am y gwaith hwnnw.

Dylai'r ymgeiswyr allu dangos:

  • Gwybodaeth a/neu ddiddordeb
    mewn materion cyfathrebu.
  • Dealltwriaeth o swyddogaeth a chyfrifoldebau Ofcom mewn tirwedd wleidyddol sy'n dod yn fwy cymhleth.
  • Dealltwriaeth o ddatblygiadau yn economi, cymdeithas a diwylliant Cymru.
  • Y gaUu i ddeaU a chyfleu anghenion a safbwyntiau amrywiol dinasyddion a defnyddwyr yng Nghymru.
  • Sgiliau cyfathrebu effeithiol a'r gaUu i weithio'n effeithiol fel rhan o bwyllgor.

Mae Ofcom yn gyflogwr wile cyfartal.
